DEVA STATES is a Jakarta, Indonesia based clothing brand that was founded in 2015 by two friends, Theo Kusuma and Mol Edrin. The meaning behind their name is a play on words; the name Devá is adopted from Sanskrit, one of the most ancient languages in Indonesia, and translates to "the shining one, divine or anything of excellence." They produce a full range of garments that are made in Indonesia out of high quality materials and that feature various graphics, colors and textures. Some of the themes and references found in their clothing are various art movements as well as the traditional Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, celebrating the beauty in imperfection.
